Maureen Gallagher is currently a partner in the 30th largest US agency, Neace Lukens, a company that specializes in property and casualty insurance placement, risk management and consulting. Gallagher also is the founder of Insurance Partners Academy, an educational company for insurance professionals.

With more than 30 years’ experience as a commercial insurance broker and consultant, Gallagher has earned a unique and well-deserved reputation for her aggressive, innovative and creative approaches to insuring and managing the simplest to most difficult classes of businesses.

She has been featured and profiled in numerous publications, and was named by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of the “Best and Brightest” and as one of “Detroit’s Most Influential Women.” She has also appeared on Edwin Newman’s nationally syndicated CEO Executive Forum television show.

A frequent lecturer and presenter, Gallagher is also on the teaching faculty for the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, the largest insurance educator in the country. In addition, she is the creator of the Certified Workers’ Compensation Counselors (CWCC) program, an advanced process whose goal is to transform the landscape of workers compensation one business at a time. Her book Transforming the Landscape of Workers Compensation will be published in fall 2009.

Gallagher previously held the position of president and CEO of Acordia of Michigan, assuming that position after heading up her own agency, Gallagher Group, Inc., for more than ten years.

Gallagher is a Licensed Insurance Counselor (LIC), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Workers’ Compensation Advisor (CWCA), Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Certified Integrated Leave Management Administrator (CILMA), Licensed Insurance Adjuster (LIA) and is completing her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations.

An avid long distance runner, biker, competitive stair climber and certified exercise instructor, Gallagher was named one of the “50 Fittest CEOs” by Crain’s Detroit Business. Gallagher lives in Troy, Michigan with her husband.
